11th match in
IPL 2008 Twenty20 was played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai on 26th April. Chennai Super Kings contested with Kolkata Knight Riders for 2 points win. KKR won the toss and came on pitch to bat in first innings. Another entertaining strong hitting show started with Sourav Ganguly and Brendon McCullum. But things turned up in different direction as the batsmen fell off their wickets quite fast and first innings finished up quickly in 99 minutes. Jacob Oram delivered good bowling and took wickets of McCullum, Ricky Ponting and Murali Kartik. As hard as could try, the strong bowlers of CSK took the best batsmen one after other in KKR team, with final score being 147 after 20 overs. Laxmi Shukla added 42 runs in 33 balls before being run out by Joginder Sharma to Dhoni.
Second innings was fantastic to watch as Parthiv Patel delivered 21 runs, then followed by Matthew Hayden adding 70 runs and Dhoni giving 43 runs to hit the winning score by a six and with 18 extra runs through many no balls and wides.
Man of the match was awarded to Oram for his super bowling pinning down strong players of Kolkata Knight Riders.
