The second test match of the Pak vs RSA bilateral series was played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi on 4 Feb 2021. Pakistan continued with the unchanged playing XI and South Africa made a change of Wiaan Mulder in place of Lungi Ngidi. Pakistan had won the toss and went for bat first.

In the first inning of Pakistan, Imran But and Abid Ali came on the crease and Rabada got the new ball in hand. Pakistan wanted to get a good start but unfortunately, its top order batsmen could not do well and lost 3 wickets at the low score of 22 runs only. Nortje and Maharaj did an excellent job and sent them back. Then, Babar Azam, the Pakistan captain, played a captaincy inning with Fawad Alam and handled the situation. Azam made 77 crucial runs for his team but could not stay longer and was dismissed by Nortje at the score of 145 runs. Afterward, wickets started falling at regular intervals and the entire team bowled out at 272 runs. Faheem Ashraf at the number 7 position remained not out and made 78 runs for Pakistan. South African bowlers Nortje and Maharaj did an excellent job and Nortje got 5, Maharaj had 3 wickets.

In the first inning of South Africa, Dean Elgar and Aiden Markram were sent to open and Shaheen Shah Afridi was ready to open the attack. Pakistan got the first breakthrough of Elgar at the score of 26 runs and then Rassie van der Dussen came on the crease but could not stay for a while and was sent back by Hasan Ali. Hasan Ali took two wickets in 2 balls at the score of 26 runs only that had brought SA under pressure. Afterward, South Africa was losing wickets at regular intervals and the whole team bowled out at the score of 201 runs only. Hasan Ali performed very well and took 5 wickets for his team. Pak got the lead of 71 runs and was ready to dominate SA in the second inning also.

In the second inning of Pakistan, the team did not get a good start and lost its top 5 batsmen at the score of 76 runs only. Mohammad Rizwan at the number 6 position handled the situation and made 115 runs that helped Pakistan to reach 298 runs. George Linde did an excellent job and took 5 wickets for his team. SA got the target of 370 runs to win the match.

SA started the second inning with Aiden Markram and Dean Elgar, Markram played very well and made 108 runs but he did not get enough support from other batsmen. Rassie van der Dussen and Rassie van der Dussen also tried well but once again Hasan Ali dominated the South African batsmen and the entire team was bowled out at the score of 274 runs. South Africa lost the match by 95 runs and two test matches series. Hasan Ali became the hero of that match and took 10 wickets in the match.

Pakistan won the 2nd Test match and captured the Pak vs SA Test series 2021 by 2-0. Hasan Ali was named Man of the Match for his excellent bowling performance.
