The 11th match of the Big Bash League 2020 was played between Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers in Blundstone Arena on 20th Dec 2020. STR won the toss and they decided to bowl first. Josh Philippe & Jack Edwards came to open for Sixers and Daniel Worrall got the new ball.

It was not a good start for Sidney Sixers and they made only 19 runs at the loss of 1 wicket at the end of mandatory power play. Sixers could make only 58 runs at 3 wickets in the 11.1 overs. Then the entry of Daniel Christian changed the game. His superb inning of 50 runs from just 16 balls finally set 177 runs at the scoreboard. Hughes also played well and he made not-out 46 runs from 41 balls. 

Strikers needed 178 runs from 120 balls and Phil Salt & Jake Weatherald came to open. On the other side, the new ball was given to Ben Dwarshuis. Strikers started the inning beautifully and made 47 runs at the end of the first power play with all wickets in hand. Strikers lost their first wicket in the fifth over at the score of 52 runs. Salt and Weatherald made 28 runs and 27 runs. But both opening batsmen were sent back by Christian and Manenti in the 5th and 6th over. 

Strikers who started very well came under pressure after the dismissal of Salt & Weatherald and could make only 109 runs at 6 wickets at the end of the 16th over. STR could not achieve the target and lost the match by 38 runs. Manenti, Braithwaite, Christian took the crucial wickets for Sixers and registered a victory over STR.

Man of the Match award was given to Dan Christian who made 50 runs from just 16 balls and took the important wicket of Salt.
