The 8th T20 match of the Big Bash League 10 was played between Hobart Hurricanes and Adelaide Strikers at UTAS, Launceston on 15 Dec 2020. Strikers won the toss and they decided to field first. The super-subs players for Adelaide were MW Short & C Valente, and MW Wright & NP Winter from the side of Hurricanes.

D’Arcy Short and Will Jacks came to open the inning for Strikers and Daniel Worrall got the new ball. It was not a good start for Hurricanes and the team was in trouble after losing their 3 wickets at the score of just 20 runs. At the end of the first power play, the score was 20 runs at the loss of 3 wickets. Hobart completed their 50 runs at the 8.1 overs. After the 10th over, Strikers took X-factor super-sub Matt Shorts in place of Briggs. 

McDermott who was looking good lost his wicket in the 11th over. Finally, Hurricanes made 146 runs at the loss of all wickets in 19.3 overs. Siddle took 5 wickets for his team and Strikers needed 147 runs to win in 20 overs.

Phil Salt and Jake Weatherald came to open for Strikers and the new ball was given to James Faulkner. Strikers also lost some early wickets in the very first over and made 24 runs at the end of the first power play. Then a partnership of 107 runs between Jake Weatherald and Alex Carey made the target easy and Strikers achieved the target in 18.4 overs with 8 balls left. Jake Weatherald made unbeaten 68 runs from 48 balls with four 4s and four 6s.

Peter Siddle was the Player of the Match for his brilliant performance. The top scorer was Jake Weatherald for Strikers. James Faulkner and Nathan Ellis took 2 wickets for their team.
