The sixth T20 match of the Big Bash League was played between Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades at Blundstone Arena stadium on 13 December 2020. Melbourne Renegades won the toss and invited Sixers to bat first. Josh Philippe and Jack Edwards came to open for Sixers and the ball was given to Lalor.

Sixers lost their first wicket in the second over at the score of 8 runs. So, it was a superb start for Renegade. James Vince came to join Philippe. When it seemed that both the batsmen were playing well, then a wonderful delivery from Richardson dismissed Vince. At that time, the score of Sixers was 40 runs and Vince scored 17 runs from 15 balls. But this did not affect Philippe much and went on to play his game, he completed his 50 runs in just 36 balls. It was his 8th fifty in 34 matches. 

At the end of the 15th over, Sixers was at the score of 130 runs but they lost their important wicket. Hughes, who was playing well, tried to cut and was caught by Richardson at the backward point. Jordan Silk was the next player after the dismissal of Hughes. He played really well and made 49 runs from just 19 balls. Finally, the Sixers reached the score of 205 runs because of the wonderful performance by Philippe and Silk. Philippe made 95 runs from 57 balls and gave a tough target to the opposition.

Now, Renegades needed 206 runs to win the match and it was not going to be easy for them. Lalor who was the player of the match in his last match and took 3 wickets, he just took 1 wicket and gave 49 runs in his 4 overs.

Shaun Marsh and Aaron Finch came to chase the target and Steve O'Keefe was given the first over. O'Keefe bowled really well and took 6 wickets in his 3 overs. No batsmen from the Renegades made more than 15 runs and the team was all out at the score of just 60 runs in 10.4 overs. 

The Player of the Match title was given to Philippe for his brilliant 95 runs in the match. O’Keefe took 3 wickets, Ben Dwarshuis took 4 wickets. 4 batsmen of Renegades lost their wicket at Duck.
