Today there will be clash between Chennai Super Kings and Pun Warriors India.
Chennai are comfortably sitting on the top of the point table while Pune Warriors will be restless to them them to eighth position today and come out of the humiliation.
In this tournament earlier Pune Warriors have already defeated Chennai Super Kings once and will be looking to repeat the same while CS will be looking for revenge.
Chennai may make few changes in the team as they are one of the favorites now to make it to the playoffs of IPL 6 and Faf Du Plesis may get a chance in playing XI, but you never know the strategy of M S Dhoni who is currently one of the best leaders in the world.
Players to watch out for will be Finch, Luke Wright, Yuvraj Singh, Bhubneshwar Kumar and Steve Smith.
Luke Wright can hit the balls continuously for miles along with the likes of Steve Smith. Yuvraj Singh has not yet converted his starts into a good inning so far and much will be expected from him now.
Bhubneshwar Kumar has been terrific with the ball and his in swingers are deadly. Rahul Sharma has been economical bowler too and has picked up wickets whenever necessary.
Players to watch out for from Chennai side is definitely Mike Hussey who is in tremendous form. Mike Hussey may get Orange Cap as well if he scores a score of 40+ today as he is 39 runs behind Chris Gayle.
M S Dhoni has been terrific form as well and Raina is gaining confidence with each match and we might see a big innings from him soon as well.
Bravo, Chris Morris and Mohit Sharma has been terrific with ball as pacers while Ashwin has handed the spin department well.
Again Chennai is the team to beat in this IPL and will start this match as favorites.

I did not even know that Mike Hussey was close to Orange Cap.

He doesn't hit those many sixes and he reached close to Chris Gayle without any century as well. This is quite amazing. He is indeed Mr. Cricket. He should be the brand ambassador for this sport. Even at this stage after his retirement from the national side, what a consistent performer he is for CSK.

He plays the anchor role when the pitch is detoriating, starts to be a pinch hitter when runs are needed quickly. Good thing is that he doesn't dis appoint anybody and live upto the expectations.

Keep going Hussey and grab that Ornage Cap (if possible).

I do not like CSK but cheering only for Hussey's Orange cap.

News from the center is that Chennai has won the toss and decided to bat first.
Only one change in the Chennai playing XI. Nannes as been dropped and Albie Morkel has been picked up for this game. This also means that Chennai will be playing with all eleven players who can bat and few of them can bowl as well.
Pune Warriors have made one change as well. They have brought in Suman and replaced Mithun Manhas.
There are lot of grass on the pitch and it is expected that ball may stay low.
Does that mean that we have low scoring match again on cards?
We will find that out ourselves in short time.

Chennai batting first have scored a good total of 164 runs in 20 overs with only 3 wickets down.
Start was not at all good as expected and Saha and Hussey got dismissed cheaply.
As usual S Badrinath played the anchor role during the time of crisis and Raina kept scoring with a boundary almost every over.
It looked like that the score on board is less and Badrinath went for a big shot and was caught.
People though believe that it was a plan to sacrifice his wicket and send in Dhoni who could hit the balls to miles. And this seems to have worked for Chennai Super Kings.
Dhoni came in and scored amazing 45 runs in just 16 balls. This included 3 massive sixes and 4 boundaries.
His quick fire in the end which was along with Suresh Raina that they added 62 runs in last 5 overs.
Raina scored an unbeaten 63 runs as well and shown a sign of gaining confidence which came in just 50 balls which included 5 boundaries and a six.
Can Pune Warriors chase this down on a slow pitch where 164 runs is already being considered as good score? Pune Warriors do have fire power to chase this down. Only thing they need is just click at right moment.

It totally depends on the way they will play and control the pressure. 164 is not a all a high score and they can easily chase it, provided they maintain the right momentum every time. Over the matches it has been seen that they make a good start and then, in the middle of the game they lose momentum .

Let's see what they can do today.

Pune Warriors started quite magnificently and were almost going at 10 runs per over.
At the end of 5 overs, Pune warriors score reads like 43 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
Thanks to some superb bowling from Mohit Sharma who took 3 wickets in just 2 overs and was on a hat trick as well.
Mohit picked up the wickets of A Finch, Suman and Yuvraj Singh. Two of them were caught behind and one LBW appeal successfully ruled in his favor.
Fourth wicket was that of Uthappa who went for a suicidal run which was never there. Raina picked up the ball one handed and hit the stumps directly catching him short of the crease.
It will be Smith and Wright in the middle and they will have to play a long innings if they really want to take this game close.

Important point to notice was that Ravindra Jadeja had opened the bowling for Chennai today and went for 9 runs which included a front foot no ball. He dismissed Uthappa on that no ball which was not considered as it was free hit.
Somebody made a point that Ravindra Jadeja gets caught off free hit while batting and traps batsmen with a catch off his own bowling when it is a free hit. :P

Chennai has won this game against Pune Warriors comfortably by 37 runs.
Pune Warriors could only score 127 runs and lost 9 wickets in 27 overs.
After the fall of Steven Smith's wicket, it looked like nothing was left and Pune Warriors never tried winning the game from there.
Run rate was climbing up with every dot ball and it was a hill climbing task for Pune Bowlers to score those runs.
Yuvraj Singh failed with the bat again and Luke Wright was unlucky to get dismissed in that fashion of run out. But in a game of limited over cricket, such things do happen and are generally too common.
Out of nine wickets that fell, 3 of them were victim of run out which in itself speaks of high quality fielding of Chennai.
Mohit Sharma picked up three top order wickets which mounted pressure on coming batsmen and they fell like a pile of cards.
Pune warriors still remain at the bottom most of the point table while Chennai sticks to the first position and they have now improved their run rate as well.
They have the best run rate currently and this being their 8th win out of 10 matches so far, it can be said that they are into the playoffs (99 percent).

Some one was mentioning that M S Dhoni wasn't an explosive batsman.
I would be really pleased if he can step out and check the strike rate of the batsmen in this current tournament that is IPL 6.
With half of the IPL 6 already over and most teams having already played 9 matches or more, Dhoni has the best strike rate for the batsmen who have scored 200+ runs in this IPL 6.
Dhoni has smashed 298 runs in IPL 6 in just 173 deliveries and has a strike rate of 172.25. This is the best currently, far better than Chris Gayle (166.89 strike rate) and De Villiers (151.12 strike rate)
Dhoni scored 45 runs today in just 16 balls with a strike rate of 281.25.

Dhoni has been awarded the Man of the Match award for his brilliant and out standing knock of 45 runs on a slow wicket.
Dhoni gets award for hitting maximum sixes as well.
He indeed took the charge as soon as he came in and blew all the bowlers apart and took the score to a massive one when it was looking impossible to score even 150.
Finch also admitted in post match ceremony that it is difficult to stop M S Dhoni when he starts hitting the ball.
In spite of such a hot and humid climate, Dhoni feels that it has not been too hot this season.
What a player and what a fitness level.
Just wow.
