Best Indian Player in IPL considering all IPL editions

I think Suresh Raina is best indian player in IPL. He always plays for the team not for his records.

A player should be considered great not by his personal contribution but for his contribution as a team.
Cricket is a eleven member game and you have to play as a unit to prove your worth.
Raina has done exactly the same in IPL season.
In the first four season of IPL< he was the only batsmen to have hit 400+ runs all 4 years. In IPL 5, he some how could not score much but even then his runs tally was more than 300.
Half of the tournament of IPL 6 is over, and he has only contributed 196 runs but the good news is that he has started to find some form and he gets into one, then the remaining 7 matches is much more for him to go past those figures of 500 again.
Look at is fielding skills as well. He rarely drops a catch. He saves almost 10 odd runs in fielding in just 20 runs which is again a massive contribution because every run you save is every run you have scored for your team.

If best Indian player in IPL is taken into account, it is of course Suresh Raina. This is the format of the game which suits Raina as well as he has better control of those slog shots as well as that in - out shot over cover. He can free his arms from the very first ball he faces and being a good fielder is like a cheery on top.

But the fact cannot be denied that Dhoni who comes down the order of 4, 5 or sometimes 6 even has somewhere runs almost close to Raina which means that whenever team was in bad or crucial situation, he has given his contribution at it's best.

This was only when you consider the batting side.

As per bowling is concerned, definitely my first choice will always be Amit Mishra. After all taking 3 hat tricks isn't an easy task. You really need some serious talent to graspthose hat tricks.

He has also picked a lot of wickets and is on the top 3 position.

As for me, Raina is the best Indian player still in IPL as a batsmen.
As far as bowler is concerned, I would prefer Ashwin over Amit Mishra. I have always liked the performance of an individual if it is less in favor of him and more in favor of the team he is playing for.
Amit Mishra might have taken 3 hat tricks in IPL but his economy is not as consistent as Ashwin. In T20, you don't only need to take wicket, but you need to compose or restrict a batsmen from scoring runs as well.
Amit Mishra has grabbed most of his wickets when batsmen went after him whereas Ashwin has bowled really well, creating pressure and then picking his wickets which is a good sign of positive bowling in a format like T20 where each run matters a lot.
I am not against Amit Mishra, he is the best leg spinner we have currently after Anil Kumble retired but looking a the variable possibility, I don't see him coming near Ashwin in any way.

I think Raina and Kohli are both good players. Kohli excels both in batting and fielding  On the other side, Raina is more consistent player and play better than Kohli. 

So in my both these players are good and will be the star players from India, forever.

@skyshot: A player is not only good because he plays good on the field. It is his attitude on the field that counts as well.
Raina is the perfect one to step into Dhoni's shoes. Kohli is very hot tempered and loses his cool easily. Just being a good batsmen doesn't make you a good leader and he is really counted good because he is in good form.
Raina on the other hand can play an anchor role as well as hitter role for the team as per situation and demand of the team.
Not to forget, Kohli and Raina both are yet to deliver with bat outside India.
But it is attitude that puts Raina much ahead of Kohli.

Cool is not always good. Kohli is our future, he will be the one who will give straight answers to other teams like Australia or any other side. Aggression is good in cricket and this adds more energy to the cricket. India Pakistan matches are preferred because of the basic reason, the type of energy and aggression involved in it. 

As far as Dhoni is concerned, he may not be considered as good batsman, but surely he is a good leader. Kohli being captain of an IPL team, is getting lot confidence and will surely be using his exp. in future, when he becomes captain of Indian team. And may be in future he proves to more good captain than Dhoni. Becuase time are changing fast, if 158 record can be broken, how far is the record of captaincy. 

Raina on the other hand is another good player in Indian side and will to play crucial in future of Indian cricket.

@skyshot: Just imagine Kohli as Indian Captain with Gambhir opening the innings for India.
Praveen Kumar, Sreesanth and Munaf patel as leading bowlers.
When India would be bowling, every balll will lead to fight on field. Don't you think so?
And how can you say that cool is not always good.
It is Dhoni's cool always that is winning us the games until he is at crease.
The moment he gets out, match is lost, have you not noticed that.
No doubt that Kohli is future of Indian Cricket team but for sure not the captain.
Captain is always a cool headed guy who respects other team member and own team members as well.
And You can never say that Dhoni is not a good batsman. There are hundred of proofs and stats behind him.
You say that he is a good leader, no objection to that from me and neither from anybody. Before he came into Indian team, only one batsmen had responsibility on his shoulders Sachin Tendulkar but after Dhoni came in, entire team responsibility has well driven to everybody and not one.
IPL captaincy doesn't count much because it lasts for not more than 3 hours whereas national captaincy requires a lot of mental pressure which also leads to drop in form.
It is for sure that Raina is the inheritor of Dhoni as Captain of Indian team.
If you really see it with cricketing knowledge and not being bias, you will surely get it.

Perception are different, i can't help it. I liked Ganguly more as captain then Dhoni. No offence, if somebody emotions are getting hurt.

I like Dhoni more than any other Batsmen, any other keeper, any other captain and any other sports person. Hope you don't have problem with my likings as well because I don't have any with yours.
Dhoni is currently a role model / idol by many growing cricketers and so is mine.
If you do not like him, stop it here. I got your intentions.
Hope you don't take it any further more.

Exactly dude that's what i am saying, you your way, I am mine. But yes i always like a healthy discussion. I don't why I am wasting time on the players, with whom I need nothing. It is just the game after all.
