What a close match this 3rd game of CPL was.
Barbados won the toss and elected to bat first, and this was the second match
for the tridents. This match was being played between the Barbados Tridents and
Antigua Hawksbills. Start for the tridents, went bad as they lost the Dwayne
smith at just 8 runs. But good game played by the Jonathan Carter and Shoaib
Malik, built foundation for a good score for the tridents. Both of them scored
31 and 33 runs respectively. Then a good knock by the Umar Akmal as he scored
30, which contributed in a big manner which led to a score of total 146 for the
8 wickets. None of the bowler except the Marlon Samules was good at bowling from
the Hawksbills side. Now Hawksbills had to score 147 runs to win this match.
Start for the Hawksbills were good as compare to their opposite
team. Johnson Charles scored 44 runs. But after his wicket fell none of the
team player could able to play a long innings. But in the middle some efforts
were put in by the Samuels and Rohrer and both scored 23 runs each. But the wickets tend to fall on continuous
basis and the whole team was able to put only 134 runs with loss of 8 wickets.
From the trident side, Ashley Nurse took 4 wickets with the 28 runs he gave in
the 4 over. Shakib al Hasan was very fantastic in wicket and just game 16 runs
in four over sand did a tight bowling in the initial overs.
Barbados trident need to have a good plan to stable their
front batting order.
