Both the teams HUR and SCO have good Australian experienced cricketers and overseas cricketer. Perth Scorchers is the most successful team in BBL history with 3 BBL titles. Hobart Hurricanes does not have any BBL title till now.  Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers have had played 13 times against each other in BBL history. Both teams have shown good quality cricket and gave tough competition to each other. Perth Scorchers has managed to win 7 games out of 13 while Hobart Hurricanes has also won 6 times. It has always been interesting to see the clash between these two strong sides. There is a healthy BBL rivalry between Perth Scorchers and Hobart Hurricanes.

Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers had played only 1 league game against each other in BBL 2014-15. Adam Voges was assigned as captain of Perth Scorchers and George Bailey had handled the captaincy of Hobart Hurricanes in BBL 2014-15. The match was played on January 11, 2015, at Bellerive Oval, Hobart. Perth Scorchers had batted first and made 141 runs in their 20 overs. Adam Voges had maintained his captaincy for Perth Scorchers while Hobart Hurricanes gave captaincy back to Tim Paine in BBL 2015-16.  HUR and SCO had played 1 league game against each other in IPL 2012. The league match between HUR and SCO in BBL 2015-16 was played on January 10, 2016, at Bellerive Oval, Hobart. Perth Scorchers team had batted first and made 173 runs in their 20 overs. Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers had clashed 2 times in BBL 2017-18 season and both the teams won one game each. The 1st match was held on January 20, 2018, at WACA Ground, Perth. Hobart Hurricanes had batted first and made only 167 runs. Wicket-keeper batsman Matthew Wade had opened the inning for Hobart and made brilliant 31 runs in just 17 balls. Daniel Christian had taken most 4 wickets for Hobart Hurricanes. Matthew Wade was awarded as the player of the match for his brilliant start to the team. He had scored 71 runs in 45 balls.

HH vs PS Head to Head in Big Bash League 2018-19

Matthew Wade was appointed as the new captain of Hobart Hurricanes while Ashton Turner was appointed as captain of Perth Scorchers in BBL 2018-19. HUR and SCO had played 2 matches against each other in BBL 2018-19. The 1st match between these two sides was held on December 30, 2018, at Aurora Stadium, Launceston. Perth Scorchers versus Hobart Hurricanes Head to Head in Big Bash League 2019-20

Both the teams Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers had changed their captain in BBL 2019-20. Ben McDermott was assigned as captain of Hobart Hurricanes, and Mitchell Marsh handled the captaincy of Perth Scorchers. Hobart Hurricanes had played 2 games against Perth Scorchers in BBL 2019-20. Both Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers had won one game each. The 1st match between HUR and SCO in BBL 2019-20 was held on January 5, 2020, at WACA Ground, Perth. Hobart Hurricanes had batted first and had given a target of 181 runs for Scorchers to win the match. D’Arcy Short had scored a brilliant century and had given momentum to Hobart Hurricanes team to dominate over Scorchers. D’Arcy Short had scored not out 103 runs in just 70 balls and gave a very good total to Hobart team to defend. Perth Scorchers also had played good quality cricket in 2nd inning but failed to chase the target. The Hobart bowlers had managed to defend the victory. Scorchers had made 172 runs in 2nd inning and left 9 runs short to target. Hobart Hurricanes had won the match by 8 runs, and D'Arcy Short was selected as player of the match for his match-winning century.

The 2nd time both teams had played against each other in BBL 2019-20 was on January 13, 2020, at Bellerive Oval, Hobart. Perth Scorchers had batted first and made 175 runs in 1st inning. JP Inglis had opened the inning for Scorchers team and made brilliant 73 runs in just 46 balls. Mitchell Marsh had also scored 40 runs. Hobart Hurricanes batting collapsed horribly in 2nd inning. The team got all out on just 98 runs in only 17.1 overs. It was a really disappointing performance by the batsmen of Hobart Hurricanes. They could not even play their 20 overs. George Bailey had scored 36 runs most for Hobart Hurricanes. J Richardson had bowled energetic bowling spell for Perth Scorchers. He had taken 4 wickets in his 4 overs by giving only 19 runs and made it very difficult for Hobart Hurricanes. It was a big defeat for Hobart Hurricanes. Perth Scorchers had won the match by 77 runs. Josh Inglis was awarded as the player of the match for his brilliant inning of 73 runs for Perth Scorchers.

Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers will play 2 league matches against each other in BBL 2020-21. The 1st league match between Hurricanes and Scorchers in BBL 2020-21 will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at The WACA, Perth. Both teams Perth and Hobart, are very strong and balanced side. It will not be easy for Hobart Hurricanes to defeat Perth Scorchers at their home. Perth Scorchers has a very good win record and amazing stats at home. The 2nd league game between these two sides will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021, at Hobart.
