The 2nd T20 international match of Pakistan vs South Africa bilateral series 2021 was played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on 13 Feb 2021. South African captain, Heinrich Klaasen, won the toss and he had invited Pakistan to bat first. There were no changes in the Pakistan team, and Glenton Stuurman got the chance to play his first T20 international for RSA. Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam were on the crease to open and JJ Smuts got the new ball in hand to attack.

At the beginning of the inning, Pakistan lost its captain’s wicket at a very low score of 10 runs. It was not a good sign for Pakistan but South Africa had got the big breakthrough. At the end of the first mandatory Powerplay, Pakistan had made 42 runs at the loss of two wickets. Pakistan had put the first 50 runs on the scoreboard at 6.4 overs but wickets were collapsing consecutively. No batsmen except Mohammad Rizwan could do better and he scored 51 runs from 41 balls that helped Pakistan to put a total of 144 runs on the scoreboard. Mohammad Rizwan became the first Pakistan opening batsman who scored three 50s continuously. Finally, South Africa got the target of 145 runs from 120 balls to win the match. Dwaine Pretorius was amazing with the ball and took 5 wickets for his team.

Janneman Malan and Reeza Hendricks were sent in the middle to chase the target and Shaheen Shah Afridi got the new ball. South Africa struggled at the beginning and lost the two wickets at 21 runs only. But then Reeza Hendricks and Pite Van Biljon controlled the situation and had made a crucial 77 runs partnership that helped South Africa to achieve the target very comfortably. South Africa got the target of 145 runs in 16.2 overs and won the match by 6 wickets. Dwaine Pretorius was the man of the match for his awesome bowling performance.
