The first match of the series was played on 7th November 2015 at the CITI field stadium in New York at 1:00 PM local time. It was a see saw battle between the SACHIN BLASTERS and the WARNE warriors in which the latter defeated the former by 6 wickets. Blasters won the toss and decided to bat with VIRENDRA SEHWAG as the opening partner. Both started cautiously but SEHWAG cut loose soon after and hit four sixes in a row reminding people of his combative instincts. The opener was particularly severe on Walsh and KALLIS. Blasters were making merry at 77/0 when Shane Warne introduced himself into the attack. He along with VETTORI became the destroyer in chief as they removed TENDULKAR who scored brisk 26 runs of 27 balls and then SEHWAG got out to VETTORI after scoring a quick fire 55 runs of 22 balls studded with numerous sixes and fours.

BRIAN LARA, JAYWARDHENA and LAXMAN couldn’t break the shackles as the blasters folded off 140 runs in the allotted 20 over. Warne Warriors didn’t start well as Mathew Hayden and Jacques KALLIS couldn’t start off well and fell cheaply however the team was rescued by the brilliance of Risky PONTING who seemed as if he never retired. Aided by the irresistible KUMAR SANGKARRA, the warriors comfortable cruised home with 2.4 over to spare. Finishing touches to the chase was offered by JONTY RHODES who reversed swept SACHIN TENDULKAR off spin for six.

Although the greats playing the matches retired, they were ever sharp on the field and some of them like SHOAIB AKHTAR showed that still he has plenty of fire in him to rattle the top most batsmen. In the end Warriors trumped the blasters by 6 wickets and earned an early lead in the series. SHANE WARNE was awarded the man of the match for his 3 wickets of SACHIN, LARA and LAXMAN.
