Knights dominate Warriors to register their first win in Ram Slam - The Ram Slam tournament after the success in the previous season started off this year with Knights facing Warriors in the 1st match of the tournament. This match was played in the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Warriors in this match after winning the toss decided to field first.

Batting first the Knights got off to a great start as the openers together stitched a partnership of 78 runs in just 9 overs. Rudi Second after scoring 32 runs for his team lost his wicket and went back to the pavilion. Tumelo Bodibe too followed his team mate back to the pavilion without even scoring a single run. The good start from the openers was wasted by the team as the middle order failed to click. The team was restricted to 89/4 in just 10.4 overs. Gerhardt Abrahams the other opener after scoring 48 runs was the 4th wicket to fall. The team was looking towards an ordinary total when a storm named Diego Rosier came into bat and scored 55 runs of just 27 balls. This gave the team a good head start in the ending overs. Obus Pienaar ended up the innings well for the team as he scored 35 runs in just 10 balls. With this batting display Knights ended up the innings at 205.

Warriors needed a great start to chase down such a big score. The team failed to get what was required by them as they lost too many early wickets. The team found themselves struck at 51/3 in the start of the 8th over. Craig Kieswetter was the lone batsman in the team to score 51 runs and looked good while batting. He was the 5th batsman to lose his wicket. With the fall of this wicket the loss for warriors was evident and it did happen in the 19th over as the whole team was bowled out for 131 runs. Dillon du Preez was the best bowler from knights as he took 4 wickets.

With this win the Knights started off their campaign with a win and Diego Rosier was named as the best batsman of the match and Preez was named as the best bowler for this match. With this win the team earned 5 points.
