Udarata Rulers wins their second match thanks to a good team performance - The Udarata Rulers and western troopers after winning their first match met against each other in the fight to reach the top of table. In the match the Western Troopers won the toss and hey decided to field first. The decision of batting second was proved wrong by the opening batsmen of the Rulers. Dhananjaya de Silva and Upul Tharanga had a partnership of 55 runs for the opening wicket. De Silva was the first to go followed by Tharanga in the space of just 6 runs. Later the innings was controlled by Chamara Silva and Shehan Jayasuriya. These two batsmen handled the pressure and kept the runs flowing. Jayasuriya scored runs aggressively as he managed to score 50 runs in just 30 balls. It was Lahiru Thirimanne’s late blast that brought in those extra runs which took the team total to a massive 174 runs at the loss of 5 wickets. Maduka Liyanapathiranage was the best bowler for the Western Troopers as he took 2 wickets giving runs with the economy rate of 6.5.

The troopers batting second required a great start in order to chase the total down comfortably. The start was never provided by the openers as they lost their first wicket in the 2nd over of the match. Udara Jayasundera along with Bhanuka Rajapaksa tried to control the innings, but after some good run scoring Jayasundera lost his wicket. It was tumble for the batting side as they lost quick wickets leaving the team from 40/1 to 51/5. It was no looking back for the team as they were all out in the 19th over of the innings. The team batting second managed to score only 119 runs thus losing the match by 55 runs. It was Ajantha Mendis who took 3 wickets for the team while Dilhara Lokuhettige who managed to control the flow of runs. Shehan Jayasuriya won the man of the match title and Udarata Rulers earned the much required 2 points.
