Chris Gayle takes his team cross the Zouks with a century - The 3rd match of the Caribbean Premiere League was played between the St Lucia Zouks and the Jamaican Tallawahs. The defending champions that are the Tallawahs were put into field by the Zouks after winning the toss. While batting first the Zouks got a good start by scoring 41 runs in 5.2 over. It was this moment when the team lost the wicket of Johnson Charles. Later Andre Fletcher joined Henry Davids to take his team past the 100 run mark. In the 15th over the team was at 110 and lost the wicket of Davids. He scored 56 runs before losing his wicket,in search of some quick runs. Darren Sammy the captain of the team managed to score some quick runs for the team. With the help of Fletcher and Sammy the team managed to reach a total of 161 runs in 20 overs losing 5 wickets. Nikita Miller was the top bowler for the Tallawahs managing to give away only 11 runs in his 4 overs and took 1 wicket.

It was a game which required a good start to the innings. A good batting would have meant an easy win for the defending champions. The game saw a great batting performance from the Tallawahs captain Chris Gayle. He scored 111 runs in just 63 runs taking his team comfortably past the score of 161 in 19 overs. Chadwick Walton managed to score only 23 runs but gave a great start to his team. Later Jermaine Blackwood and Adam Voges partnered the captain in achieving the target while most of the scoring was done by the captain. The team won the match with 7 wickets in hand and thus the defending champions started off with the win in their 1st match. Chris Gayle won the man of the match awards for his century.
