Dolphins beat Warriors with an outstanding all round performance - The 4th match of the Ram Slam T20 Challenge was played between the Dolphins and the Warriors. This was the 2nd match for both the teams and was played in Kingsmead in Durban. Both the teams had previously lost their matches and it was one of those matches that could have changed the points table. After winning the toss the Dolphins decided to bat first.

Batting first the team didn’t start off good as they kept on losing wickets quite frequently. The team was restricted to 65/3 in the 10th over. Morne van Wyk scored 17 runs while Cameron Delport scored 21 runs before losing their wickets. Later Cody Chetty scored 22 runs before moving back to the pavilion. The game hanging moment came when Vaughn van Jaarsveld and Dwayne Bravo stitched together a partnership to get the match back on track. Bravo scored 43 runs in 25 balls before losing his wicket in the 18th over at a score of 158. Jaarsveld scored 51 runs and remained unbeaten till the end as he took his team to a score of 181 in 20 overs. JJ Smuts was the best bowler for the team as he took 2 wickets in the game.

Warriors needed a good partnership to win this match easily as a target of 182 in this pitch was quite achievable. The team didn’t start of well as they lost many wickets at the start. The first 5 wickets were lost in the span of 33 runs. After a bad start it was quite difficult for the batsman to find their way back into the game. Somila Seyibokwe the opener scored 39 runs and was the top scorer for the team. The team was able to score only 127 runs in the end of 20 overs thus lost the game by 54 runs. Van Jaarsveld was named as the best batsman in the match while Craig Alexander who took 3 wickets giving away 10 runs was named as the best bowler in the match. With this win the Dolphins not only earned the 4 points but also gained 1 bonus point.
