Ram Slam T20 Challenge 2014-2015 Schedule


The Ram Slam Twenty 20 tournament is the South Africa’s domestic T20 league. The different cricket playing nations these days are revolutionizing the T20 domestic league by introducing franchise representing different cities of the country. The Ram Slam tournament is one of the oldest T20 tournament played in the world with the rule of franchises taking part in the competition. The first time this tournament was played in the year 2003-2004.

This tournament this year will be played between six different franchises. The six participants of the competition are known as the Cape Cobras representing the city of Cape Town and Paarl. The Cape Cobras last year were the runners up of the tournament. The second team is known as the Dolphins representing the city of Durban. The Dolphins this year will be starting as the Defending champions of the tournament. Last year the team won the tournament after winning a close final. The third team in the competition is known as the Knights. The team represents the city of Bloemfontein. The fourth team in the competition will be Highveld Lions. The lions will be representing the city of Johannesburg and Potchefstroom. The fifth team in the competition is the Titans. They represent the city of Centurion and were the 3rd best team in the previous tournament. The Titans hold the record number of wins in the tournament and is the most successful team playing this competition. The last team in the competition to take thepart is known as the Warriors. The team represents the city of East London and Port Elizabeth.

This is one of the best tournaments in the cricketing field as all the teams are equally competitive and close encounter keeps on coming in the tournament. The format of the tournament has in total 6 teams will play two matches against each other. One of the games will be a home match while the other will be an away match. The teams on winning the match will see them earn 2 points. With these points at the end of the League stage will give three to teams. The team in the 1st position will go directly to the finals of the tournament while the second and third teams will be playing a qualifier match to qualify for the final. Following this format the team will be reaching the final of the tournament to claim their fame in the tournament.

The tournament this year will start off with a triple header on 2nd of November to be played in the famous stadium of Johannesburg. The first day will feature all the 6 teams taking part in the competition. The final of the tournament will be played on 12th of December. The tickets for this mega event will soon be going off for sale. The matches that will be played will be telecasted live on the various TV network. The whole country will be able to see the tournament live on Super Sport Network. This year the tournament is going global with various networks covering the game live. The tournament thus this year will be even bigger and better.
