A big match is in store for us tonight. It's a must win game for Mumbai Indians and just another match for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Gayle's heroics in Bangalore against Pune are still very fresh in memory. Bangalore will need more of it in this away game too. Mumbai had suffered successive losses by huge margins against Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils before they managed to overcome Kolkata in a close game where they won it in last over with only one ball left. With six wins from eight matches, Bangalore has been in red-hot form. Two of their batsmen occupy the top three positions in the batting charts (Gayle is placed 1st with 432 runs and Kohli is in third with 333) while they have Vinay Kumar (13 wickets) and RP Singh (10 wickets) who feature in the top eight list of highest wicket takers this year. Storm, thunder, cyclone, hurricane, whirlwind, tornado and twister are the common choice of words to describe Gayle's knocks but what he did against Pune could well be termed as Armageddon or Holocaust for the kind of devastation he unleashed. Sachin Tendulkar failed in the match against Kolkata, registering his 4th single digit score in this edition, which will be a big concern for Mumbai as the batting legend has a crucial role to play at the top of the order. News from the center is that Mumbai Indians have won the match and elected to bat first. Kohli said that he was surprised by that decision of Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians skipper as he thought that MI might choose to bowl first. Kohli also said that he wanted to bowl first on this pitch.

Stay tuned to watch out whether RCB can stop MI from scoring a huge score or not.

 
Haaaa, Gayle storm stopped by God sachin powers. Malina and Micheal Johnson are quite favorite of mine and they did what exactly they needed to do.
On the other hand, Kerein Pollard is something that need to be taken seriously, after Gayle and Keirein Pollard shares the same origin.

Kudos to both team, as they performed quite good. Another disappointment for the Kohli.

Batting first Mumbai scored a massive total of 194 runs on a ground where hitting sixes was very easy. It was a small ground and with the likes of Gayle, Kohli and De Villiers, the score must not be a huge one and should be chased down easily. Smith and Tendulkar started good but Tendulkar again got dismissed cheaply. Smith carried on and scored yet another half century in just 36 balls which included 4 boundaries and 3 sixes. Dinesh karthik contributed 43 runs and Pollard contributed 34 runs in just 16 balls which included 2 boundaries and 3 sixes.
It looked like the match is turning towards RCB when Vinay Kumar in his last over got Pollard and there were two run outs of Rayadu and Karthik consecutively by Kohli. Before Kohli could do anything, MI had posted a massive total of 194 runs which clearly meant that 2 out of three major batsmen of Bangalore had to perform against the likes of Malinga and Johnson.
Chrsi Gayle came out to open with Dilshan and neither of them could do much against Johnson and Malinga. These two bowlers kept the lines tight. Kulkarni and Harbajan got the big fishes in trap. And then the fall of wickets was like procession. Kohli, De Villiers dismissed and then it looked like RCB has completely given up. In the end RCB could only manage 136 runs and that too it was clear that they were trying to reduce the margin of the defeat.
RCB lost against MI in IPL 6 by 58 runs and D Smith has been awarded Man of the Match in his consecutive matches.

I saw Gayle struggling to play the ball of Micheal jhonshon. Micheal Jhonshon is itself a great bowler and did not ball anything that is outside the range of his body. All balls were directed towards his body.

And Malinga was bowling according to the prescribed suggestions and this made quite detrimental effect on the Gayle not playing properly. And as frustration rose, things went haywire.

Mumbai made lot of [tanning for this game as they lost ample amount matches and I think this thing worked for them and it lead to the success to this team.

On the other RCB, let MI quite occasionally and this led to their demise in the bowling arena.

But it was all around performance from the Mumbai and it worked for them. Ponting made a quite a good decision of not playing.

@skyshot: Reason for Mumbai's sure shot win against RCB were their bowlers which is Johnson and Malinga..... If you really notice, most of the Indian Players fails at needed time and only foreigner players are contributing much with bat as well as ball.
What you say that MI has lost most of their games is not their fault, it's good games from other teams and repetitivefailures of Sachin Tendulkar who is occupying the opener slot and not delivering as expected.
When somebody calls Ponting great and he drops himself because he is not delivering, why not Tendulkar as well? Is he playing just for the TRPs of MI so that tickets are sold out when MI play every match at Wankhede. There are lots of questions raised against him. His footwork gone, can understand doosra or carrom ball? Wristy work to hit boundaries with flick to leg side no more that effective? Has he missed out something?

Yes there is no doubt that foreign players are the only one who are playing in these format of game. Actually they are the one who need money (Indian players have lot). And this is the reason they perform because next time they will ask for higher amount. take the case of gayle, he will definitely going to charge more form the RCB next time.

As far as sachin case is concerned, I don't Know what to say. I mean he is the legend and he is not the dumb guy that he will rule out the saying of being under performing. See last IPL he was the star performer and now, in this tournament he is not performing that well.

I mean, What we can say, what is wrong with him. Hope he comes out strong, After all he is Sachin.

As far as TRP is concerned, I think people love him, and how can we forget his contribution to the cricket world for 20 years and that too for a playing format like IPL (You got to be kidding).

IPL is all about 'MARO AND KAMAO'. There is no where I can see class of playing. So as far as Sachin is concerned he is enjoying the format, he never has dreamed off (I mean Play as wild as you can, no matter, you knwo any technique)

Yes we cannot deny the fact that, age of sachin is a big factor in his poor performance. And let me tell all of you, at this stage no person has played so good as sachin deos. Look at his fitness man, young lads are going out of game after repetitive injuries. I mean, this is crap.

The strata that sachin has made, is forcing people to say 'Sachin score more'. If he was an normal player, who the hell anyone cared whether he is playing bad or good.

@skyshot: I think you are left in awe and even you don't know as to what you are speaking. Sometimes you talk about the contribution of guy for 20 years and sometimes you talk about him throwing bats at ball.
Sometimes you talk about his class and sometimes you talk about what happened to his performance.
Sometimes you talk about that person not having any role for TRP and then you say Maor and Kamao....
What you are talking about injuries is what I say dedication in the game. Young guys have hot blood in them and they put everything for the game they play. How much dives have you seen tendulkar putting. How many overs does he bowl these days? Half of our yougsters are all rounders these days, diving everywhere on the ground, not just standing tall there for only batting and improving personal records one after the other.....
And what you are hoping is that he will come out strong will never happen. He can score one or two half century in entire IPL nothing more.....

Hope you don't mean, I think you are really frustrated with figures like Sachin, ganguly, dravid and You must be liking Dhoni very much isn't it.

Everyone knows what type of player dhoni is when it comes to play (Batting).

I can understand your agony and frustration over senior not retiring, but don't forget, one day we all will be not fit for our job to serve better. But that does not mean, that we become losers. Think over it man, I may sound weird, but that is the truth.

What has Dhoni to do when the talks over here is for Tendulkar. Do you think Dhoni is great enough to be compared to Tendulkar?
Talking about figures, I was never interested in them anytime. If you have so much likes for just figures, I can tell you that Tendulkar, Dravid, Ganguly will never have better average than Bradman.
If you are looking for figures, just see kallis figures and you will be amazed that Tendulkar Dravid and Ganguly do not stand a chance against that man.
What figures are you talking about man. Scoring centuries is not great.
I would anytime prefer Dhoni 91 of World Cup final than Tendulkars or Sehwag double century in ODIs.

See i never saw the whole career of these great players, But whatever I saw, I liked their class. The way they behave and they way they play this game. Sorry i never saw Don bradman playing.

But I have heard that he was more furious then these three star players.

You talking about fury of Don Bradman and you forgot the incident of Ganguly talking off his t-shirt and waving it. hahahaha.
Good that you never saw Bradman playing because I bet if you had seen him, you would have never watched cricket after he retired. :)
He was a pure batsmen who only knew how to score runs in whatever way. he was never bothered about class. He was only bothered about his team winning which is what cricket all about.

Although the memories of Ganguly taking of his shirt were quite short form me( I was still small), but net west series was awesome.
Now one question from my side  who is better captain Ganguly or Dhoni, straight from the heart.

I am a result minded guy who looks for Team achievement first and personal achievement later.
Dhoni gives me that assurity that until he is there on the crease, Team India or Team CSK will not lose the match for sure whether it be World Cup Final or IPL Final....

I have heard from most of the people earlier saying that most of the IPL matches are rigged and in the end I heard that this match which was played between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore was also rigged.

I am surprised as to how come people who watch cricket so often can say such rubbish. Why did such a strong batting line up fail all of a sudden when Gayle just scored 175 alone in the previous match? What kind of point is being raised?

Gayle is a human being too, he can fail too with the bat. It was not that Bangalore played bad that day, it was Mumbai Indians who were above par that day. They really came out of their shell and played some good cricket out there.

Bowling unit was awesome which restricted Gayle from freeing his arms and with pressure growing, they picked up major wickets which led to the downfall of Bangalore.

No body can say that games in IPL are rigged. If people say that no - ball from R P Singh against CSK was fixed, can the same people explain how the game fixers knew that game would go down till the last over last ball and it would be R P Singh only bowling. How did they know that there would be a deep theird man and not a short third man protecting that single for game to win? Simply absurd whoever says that games are fixed.
