New Zealand tour of Sri Lanka, 1st ODI Washed Away!

Both of the teams never wanted thing to happen like this on their first match of the series. It is rain again. 

Venue: Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, Sooriyawewa, Hambantota
Toss won by: New Zealand and decided to field first. 

So Sri Lankan started to play first. Their start was not good as they lost their opening batsman at just zero runs.

But the opening partnership between the TM Dilshan and KC Sangakkara was very good. Both of them contributed 137 runs for the second wicket. Dilshan scored 81 runs and Sangakkara scored 79 runs.

After that, AD Mathews made 74 runs, which led to the score of Sri Lankan side to total of 288 runs. 
New Zealand guys came in to chase the score. But the last ball of the first over by Malinga, clean bowled AP Devcich. New Zealand was at 13 for 1 when rain started. And it never stopped, game was called off.

So now the 3 match series is at level and no result is there. For the fans it was very sad to see this. Rain always spoils the matches, especially the countries those are located in the equatorial region. 

Next match will be played on 12th November at Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, Sooriyawewa, Hambantota. 3rd Match will be played on 16th at Dambulla.
