A very simple match we saw yesterday. Two teams, who were yet to mark their single win in this tournament, were against each other. Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to field first. Batting first Lions had a very normal start and the opening batsman performed not that well. For first wicket, the partnership was of 29 runs. But the coming batsman could not able to contribute in a big manner. Only one player that looks little bit aggressive was AN Petersen as he scored 35 runs out of 27 and remained not out. D Pretorius who came last, also scored good runs. From the Mumbai Indian side Harbhajan Singh was most economical player as he took 1 wicket and gave just 19 runs in 4 over. Now Mumbai Indians had to chase a total of 140 in 20 overs.
DR Smith and Sachin Tendulkar came for batting. While Tendulkar got out early, Sammy kept his game on. And the coming batsman also contributed in a big manner. DR Smith scored 63 runs out of 47 balls which included 3 sixes and 4 fours. With loss of 3 wickets, Mumbai Indians scored the total very easily before the 20 overs.
