Second Indian Premier League i.e. DLF IPL 2 was started on April 18, 2009 and the final match of 2nd IPL T20 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Deccan Chargers on May 24, 2009 at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg. Deccan Chargers batted first and scored 143 runs in 20 overs. Royal Challengers Bangalore got target of 144 runs but they couldn't make it. It was a very close match and in the end Deccan Chargers won the 2nd DLF IPL T20 Final by 6 runs.
Anil Kumble (Royal Challengers Bangalore) got Player of the Match award while Adam Gilchrist(Deccan Chargers) got Player of the tournament award.
