So after the action packed game between the Otago and scorchers, it was time to see the match between the Lions and Royals. Lions won the toss and choose to field first. Batting First Royals got off to a good starts, then remained till the end of their innings. Top two opening batsman, Rahul Dravid and AM Rahane gave 21 run partnerships, but rahane got out by scoring 6 runs. Next Batsman to out was Samson and he scored 12 runs. Now the score of Royals was 36 runs in 5.2 overs. Watson and Rahul Dravid contributed some run and led the score of the team to 76 runs when Rahul Dravid got out by scoring 31 runs out of 30 balls. BJ Hodge that came after the Watson did some hitting scored 46 runs out of 23 balls and led the team score to 183 runs in 20 over. Tsotsobe from lion side did good bowling and picked up two wickets.
Lions came to chase the huge total of 183 runs. From the very starting none of the players from their side could able to contribute in a big manner towards the team total. Only AN Petersen showed some good hitting and scored 40 runs out of 28 balls. Then the coming batsman could not do much and got out early and the whole Lions team could able to score just 153 runs. From Royals side PV Tambe did good bowling and took 4 wickets in 4 over.
