So finally today, we saw the end of the 1st match of the
ashes series 2013. With England choose to bat first on the first day, they knew
their business very well and able to record the victory against the Australian
side.
So here is the history of these 5 days as follows. England
won the toss and chooses to bat first; they scored 215 runs in their first
innings. In response to the batting of the England, Australia was able to
score 280 runs and was able to 65 runs lead on England team.
Again when England came for their 2nd innings, they knew
that, if they have to win this game, they need to work upon on their batting.
With brilliant performance from IR bell and other batsman, England was able to
put up a score of 375.
Now Australia had a target of 311 runs, and they do started
well with SR Watson and CJL Rogers doing great batting. But after they
lost their wickets, Australian team was not able to hold themselves and thus managed
to score 296 runs.
This match was exciting from both Bowling and batting point
of view. So overall this match gave how exciting the Ashes series is
