Karachi Kings Cricket Team

Karachi Kings is a Karachi city-based franchise cricket team in Twenty-20 cricket Pakistan Super League (PSL).  Karachi Kings had won the title once in PSL history under the captaincy of Imad Wasim. The team was founded back in PSL 2015 on its inaugural season. Karachi Kings plays their home matches at National Stadium, Karachi. Karachi Kings are the defending champions of PSL 2021. Babar Azam is the leading run-scorer for Karachi Kings and Mohammad Amir is the leading wicket-taker.

The Karachi Kings franchise was sold to the ARY Media Group for 26 million dollars in US currency and a contract of the ten years was made. Karachi Kings was the most expensive franchise in the tournament initially.

The team failed to show quality performance in PSL 2016 maiden year of the tournament and finished the tournament at 4th position. The franchise purchased Babar Azam and Kumar Sangakkara for the second season of PSL. The team performed extremely poor during the initial stage of the tournament but managed to qualify for playoffs. In PSL 2018, Shahid Afridi joined the Karachi Kings team and handled the captaincy. Shahid Afridi guided the team very well and managed to ensure consecutive wins for his side. The 2019 PSL season was also not good for Karachi Kings. The franchise made Wasim Akram as head coach and the team played 11 matches and won only 5 of them. PSL 2020 was the best season for Karachi Kings. The team managed to win the league for the first time under the captaincy of Imad Wasim. Karachi Kings defeated Lahore Qalandars in the night of final to win their maiden PSL title.

Karachi Kings has quality players in side for PSL 2021. Colin Ingram, Babar Azam, Sharjeel Khan, Dan Christian, Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim and keeper-batsman Joe Clarke are some of the big names in the side.
