The Barbados Tridents is a Caribbean T20 domestic team, which represents Barbados in the Caribbean Premier League. Six teams were created in the inaugural season of CPL in 2013, The Tridents is one of them. Well, it is the only team from West Indies which got direct entry to the CLT20 2014 as they are the new champions of CPL 2014, which has ended few days back on 16th August, 2014.

However, The Barbados Tridents got to the Champions League T20 2014 for the first time by defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Caribbean Premier League, 2014 Final under the captaincy of Kieron Pollard and Desmond Haynes is the present coach of the team.

Key Players
  1. The team boasts of many West Indian star players like, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Smith, William Perkins, Ravi Rampaul, Jason Holder. Despite these entire West Indian powerhouses the Pakistani star batsman Shoaib Malik and South African Neil McKenzie expected to be a star turn for them in the tournament.
  2. Shoaib Malik: Shoaib Malik is a kind of player who can really turn the tide of a match at any point, in his ten years of career there is no such field in cricket the Pakistani Right-handed batsman hasn’t filled. Overall, he is the one-of-a-kind bats man which The Barbados really has.
  3. Dwayne Smith: Dwayne Romel Smith, when the cricket fans hear this name, the first word come to their mind is destructive. He is one of the best opening batsmen in T20 format that cricket world has at the moment.

Conclusion
Many of the important players, such as Dwayne Smith, Shoaib Malik also plays for different T20 teams from other countries but they have the ability to choose which team they want to represent in Champions League T20, 2014 as per ICC contact rule. The concerning thing for The Barbados Tridents is that the West Indian players never chose a Caribbean team before over a IPL or south African team. So, it’s not final yet the key players of Tridents will remain the key players for them at CL T20 2014.
