England vs India T20 Series 2014 Schedule


Twenty 20 format is one of the most loved cricketing format for any team. When it comes to India the format is loved even more. The India’s tour of England has been a terrific one so far. After a daunting test series where England ruled over India and won it 3-1 humiliating the Indians. Similarly Indians took revenge in the ODI series by humiliating the home side and winning the series 3-1. Now the end of the series was all upon the last match of the tour that was the only Twenty 20 International to be played between these two teams.

This only T20 match was being sponsored by Natwest and was played in the stadium of Edgbaston in Birmingham. The series was played in a ground which was quite similar to the original settings of the home ground for the Indian team. The ground has always attracted more Indian supporters than the English fans. This match was nothing less than that as 99% fans present in the ground were Indians. This Only T20 match between the two teams was to be telecasted by the Sky sports network in England and Star network in India held the broadcasting rights.

In the match Eion Morgan led the home team and on a batting friendly wicket decided to bat first after winning the toss. The start of the innings once again was not good for England as they lost two wickets pretty quickly, reaching the score of 27 in just 4th over of the game. The match seemed to be ruled by the Indian bowlers. They kept on controlling the runs and never let England go away with the game. Alex Hales was the player who played some outstanding shots to score 40 runs in 25 balls. It was him who scored runs to provide a platform for the players coming later. Eion Morgan was the star of the show as he scored 71 runs in just 31 balls in the end to take his team to a total of 180 at the end of 20 overs. Mohammed Shami was the star bowler taking 3 wickets in the game.

Indian team lost Ajinkya Rahane in the start of the chase and allowed Virat Kohli to step in. he played himself back into form as he scored 66 runs off 41 balls. The required run was pretty high and wickets kept on falling. The Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni made sure that his team had all the chances and took his team to a position where 11 runs were required in 5 balls but the Indians failed and at the end lost the match by 3 runs.t was a close encounter and Eion Morgan was named as the player of the match for his batting.
