Indians fail to win the only T20 match of the tour - India and England were to play the only T20 match of the tour at Edgbaston in Birmingham. This match was the last one of the long tour of India and in this England won the toss and decided to bat first. The pitch was perfect one for batting. The English batsmen failed to take advantage of the condition in the beginning as they lost 2 wickets in first 4 overs. Alex Hales was the man who managed to score 40 runs of just 25 balls and got the team going. He lost his wicket in the 10th over of the game leaving his team at a score of 75/3. His fall of wicket brought in the captain at the crease which later proved to be the real difference. He scored 71 runs off 31 balls and hence took his team to a score of 180 in 20 overs. Mohammed Shami took 3 wickets in this match for the team.

Indians needed a good start in the match to chase this big total. Ajinkya Rahane lost hi wicket pretty early bringing in the out of form batsman Virat Kohli onto bat. This was the innings that every fan wanted to see as he scored 66 runs of 41 balls. He kept on firing from one side but on the other hand the wickets kept falling. He left his team in the 15th over leaving his team at a score of 131/3. The match started to turn towards England as they kept on piling the pressure. Mahendra Singh Dhoni the captain kept his team in the hunt and took his team to a position where 4 runs were required to win in the last ball. He failed to hit the boundary and thus England won the match by 3 runs. Eion Morgan was named as the man of the match.
