The second semi final match of the CPL 2020 was played between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Lucia Zouks on September 8, Tuesday at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad. It was the 2nd semi final match of CPL 2020.
St Lucia Zouks captain Darren Sammy won the toss and chose to bowl first. B King and C Hemraj opened the inning for Guyana Amazon Waarriors. B King got out on duck to Kuggeleijn. C Hemraj scored 25 runs but got out to Deyal. The star player Shimron Hetmyer of Guyana Amazon Warriors also got out on duck to very first ball of Kuggeleijn. Nicholas Pooran also got out on 11 and it was accurate bowling performance by the St Lucia Zouks in the night of semi final. The experienced player Ross Taylor also got out on just 3 runs and no other batsmen could stand for team. Guyana Amazon Warriors could not even play their 20 over. The team got all out on just 55 runs in 13.4 over.
It was the lowest total by any team in CPL history. Kuggeleijn, R Chase, Zahir Khan and Deyal took 2 wickets each. All the bowlers bowled at very good line and length and dominated over the batsmen of Guyana Amazon Warriors. It was an easy target of 56 runs for St Lucia Zouks to reach to their first ever CPL final. R Cornwall and M Deyal opened the inning for St Lucia Zouks and played aggressive cricket. They chased the target only in 4.3 over. R Cornwall made not out 32 runs on just 17 balls and M Deyal also made 19 runs.
St Lucia Zouks won the match by 10 wickets and reached the final of CPL 2020. M Deyal was selected as player of the match for his brilliant performance in the match. He took 2 wickets with the ball and also made not out 19 runs with the bat.
