The 14th match of the CPL 2020 was played between Barbados Tridents and Jamaica Tallawahs on August 26, Wednesday at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad. The Tallawahs captain Rovmann Powell won the toss and elected to field first.

Barbados Tridents openers Johnson Charles and Shai Hope both got out early if the inning to Mujeeb Ur Rahman. K Mayers scored 85 runs in 59 balls and played a beautiful and important inning for team. Captain Holder also scored 15 runs on 14 balls. Mitchell Santner finished the inning and made not out 20 runs in 19 balls. Barbados Tridents made a total of 148 runs in their 20 over. Mujeeb Ur Rahman bowled brilliantly and took 3 wickets in his 4 over by giving just 14 runs. Sandeep Lamichhane also bowled well and took 2 wickets in his 4 over by giving just 16 runs.

It was a target of 149 runs to win the game for Jamaica Tallawahs. Opener Glenn Phillips got out on duck to Mitchell Santner. Chadwick Walton also got out early on just 10 runs. Jermaine Blackwood scored 28 runs in 28 balls. It was accurate bowling performance by Barbados Tridents. Captain Powell also got out on 4 runs. N Bonner scored most 31 runs in 28 balls for Jamaica Tallawahs. The absence of Andre Russell proved tough for Jamaica. Jamaica could manage up to 112 runs only in their 20 overs.

Barbados Tridents won the game by 36 runs. Mitchell Santner took 2 wickets by giving just 10 runs in his 4 over. Captain Holder, Afghani leg spin bowler Rashid Khan and Raymon Reifer each took 2 wickets. Ashely Nurse also bowled very economically but could not get any wicket. Kyle Mayers was selected as player of the match for his brilliant batting performance.
