Chris Gayle century blows Warriors away - The 7th match of the Ram Slam T20 tournament was played at Buffalo Park in East London South Africa. This match featured Warriors and Lions facing each other for the first time in the tournament. After winning the toss in this match the Warriors elected to bat first.

Batting first the team lost Somila Seyibokwe early due to a run out. Craig Kieswetter continued his form and scored some important runs in the match. He played a role of an anchor as others in the team failed to impress much with the bat. The middle order batsmen failed to contribute to the total as Simon Harmer and JJ Smuts were the only one who was able to score runs in double figure while others failed to reach that mark. Kieswetter scored 82 runs and took the team total to 144 in 20 overs. Eddie Leie took 3 wickets for Lions in this match and provided them a good opportunity to earn the important points from this match.

A score of 145 in modern day cricket can become tricky sometimes. The openers Alviro Petersen and Chris Gayle were enough in this match to remove all doubts of the total being tricky. Chris Gayle played a marvellous innings of 108 runs scoring it in just 55 balls to take his team cross the required target.  In his innings he scored 10 4’s and 7 6’s at a strike rate of 196.36. The total of 144 was crossed in 14.2 overs only.

With this win the Lions earned 5 points from the match and Chris Gayle was named as the man of the match. Eddie Leie was named as the bowler for the match for his outstanding bowling performance that restricted the Warriors in getting away with the match easily.
