Kieron Pollard proved to be the difference for Cobras in a high scoring match - The 2nd match of Ram Slam tournament this year saw the Cape Cobras take on the challenge from Titans. The match was played in the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Both the teams had the required amount of fire power in them and it had all the contents of being a world class match. After winning the toss the Titans decided to field first in the match.

The Titans after winning the toss put in the Cape Cobras to bat first. The Cobras made full use of the opportunity as they got off to a flier scoring 93 runs in 7.3 overs. In this start they lost 2 wickets which included the wicket of Richard Levi who scored 81 runs in 34 balls. In this innings he scored 14 boundaries. After a good start the team lost some quick wickets as they were restricted to 100/4. It seemed that the Titans were finding their way back into the match but Justin Ontong had some other things in mind as he scored 72 runs in 36 balls to take his team to a score of 207 runs in 20 overs. Dean Elgar was the bowler to look out for in the match as he took 3 wickets giving away only 20 runs.

The Titans required a good start in order to have a chance of chasing this score. The openers Henry Davids and Dean Elgar provided just what was needed from them as the players scored 151 runs in just 15 overs of the game. Elgar after scoring 72 runs lost his wicket in the 15th over. Davids too followed him scoring 72 runs and leaving his team at a score of 161. The launch pad was provided to the team to go for the win but they failed to score the required runs and hence fell 14 runs short. They finished their innings at a score of 193. Kieron Pollard took 3 wickets in the match and he proved to be the real difference.

Kieron Pollard won the best bowler award while Richard Levi won the best batsman award in the match. The Cape Cobras were able to win the match but failed to secure the bonus point and thus they earned only 4 points from this match.
