The Wanderers Stadium

The Wanderers Stadium is one of the most historic stadiums of South Africa and is located in Sandton, Illovo in Johannesburg. The stadium is also known as BIDVest Wanderers stadium was constructed in the year 1956 and was renovated in the year 1991 when flood lights were installed in the stadium. The stadium is also nick named as The Bullring because of its design. The stadium consists of a maximum sitting capacity of 34,000 spectators. The stadium was internationally inaugurated by a test match between South Africa and England on December 24, 1956 and the first ODI was played here December 13, 1992 South Africa and India. The stadium possesses of two ends named as Corlett Drive End and Golf Course End.
