Though, Chris Gayle was the first batsman to hit a fine hundred in the T20 world cup ever on his way to a brilliant knock of 117 off 57 balls against South Africa with 7 boundaries and 10 sixes in Johannesburg in 2007.

As many as 8 centuries have been scored by batsmen until now in this premiere World T20 championship with Brendon McCullum topping the list. The Kiwi opener hit a blitzkrieg knock of 123 in the world T20 2012 at a match against Bangladesh which is still the highest individual score in the T20 World Cup.
