Dale Steyn, a world number 1 bowler in Cricket World is a South African player. He represents South Africa in Test and ODI games. A right arm pace bowler born in 1983 and normally bowls at the speed range of 145-15- km/h. He bowled his fastest delivery of 156.2km/h in IPL 2010 when he played for RCB against KKR. In 2008, Steyn became the only South African player to reach the fastest 100 dismissals in Test format. In 2008, he was declared ICC Test Cricketer of the year. Steyn also plays domestic cricket for Cape Cobras. Steyn played his 1st first class cricket in 2003 when he represented Northerns. In 2005, Steyn got a chance to play Essex but couldn’t impress much with the ball and managed to take 14 wickets at an average of 60 in 7 games. Steyn played his first Test match in 2004 against England. In all, he took 8 wickets. His first dismissal was of the Marcus Trescothick. Steyn was a member of South African squad for a series against New Zealand in 2005-06 and he performed outstandingly in the whole series. He has played 65 games and has taken 332 wickets with bowling average of 22. He has got 5 wickets 21 times in an innings and 10 wickets 5 times. His first 5 wicket haul came in the same series in the first match. He played all the 3 matches and took 16 wickets at an average of 16. Steyn was also included in the squad for series against Sri Lanka in 2006. His performance was good but he couldn’t save his side from being defeated and South Africa lost the series as well. He took 8 wickets in all at an average of 37. In 2006-07, he played against India but couldn’t play the initial game due to the injury. He played in the 3rd game and took 6 wickets after conceding 88 runs and managed to take 6 wickets in all at an average of 19. Steyn performed his best with the ball against India in 2009-10 when he took 7 wickets after conceding 57 runs. Steyn made his debut in ODI format in 2005 against AsiaXI but made his ODI debut internationally in 2006 against Australia. He has given his contribution in 68 ODI matches and has got success in taking 100 wickets with an average of 30. He has taken 5 wickets in a match just single time. Steyn played for South Africa in ICC World Cup tournament in 2011 and in the same tournament, he took 5 wickets against India after conceding 50 runs and this figure was set as his best figure in ODI format. In ODI format, Steyn has not got success much when compared with that in the Test format. Steyn has also enjoyed T20 games. He made his T20 debut in 2007 against New Zealand and took single wicket and conceded 17 runs after bowling 4 overs. His best figure in T20 format is of 4 for 9 that he achieved against West Indies in 2007. He has played 30 games and has taken 40 crucial wickets with an average of 17. Steyn has also played some IPL matches. Initially, he played for RCB during 2007-2010 but was chosen by Deccan Chargers a year later. At present, he is playing for Sun Risers Hyderabad.
