Jacques Kallis is not selected for the Champions Trophy 2013 because of his unavailability due to his personal reasons. South Africa have announced their 15-players squad for upcoming Champions Trophy 2013. You can check out the complete squad at following link:

Do you think the unavailability of Jacques Kallis will make any impact on team's performance?
Oh my god. No way that he is out.
He was the guy I was waiting to see perform for South Africa in this Champions Trophy.
Sad news.
His absence will surely have a great impact on South African team as he played the anchor role for the team as well add quick runs whenever needed.
He is their best slip fielder along with bowler who could have provided break throughs at needed intervals.
He was the guy on whom South African could have blindly believed to have delivered with either bat or ball.
Currently he is the best All rounder present in the world.
This is surely a big blow to South Africa.
Any news as to who has replaced him in the squad. Did J P Duminy get a chance?

This is indeed a very sad news that kallis will not be playing in the Champions Trophy. But look at the ability of the player that even after aging 41, he is not dropped from the team and if he was available, he would have been picked for the services to the country.

Hats off to Kallis for being a true cricketer to his nation and one of the best all rounders I have ever seen in the game of cricket.

Anybody who can fulfill the place of Kallis is nobody.
There will be huge pressure now on De Villiers and Faf Du Plessis to perform in every match with the bat at least.
If South Africa will be looking for an all rounder, they do have option in J P Duminy as well as Peterson but quality of Kallis cannot be found.
Duminy as well as Peterson can contribute with ball but they are spinners in comparison to Kallis. Du Plessis can bowl those leg spinners as well but not fast or medium fast, this also means that South Africa will have to go with an extra fast bowler to compensate the loss of Kallis in this upcoming Champions Trophy.
Let's see as to how South Africa cope up with this.
