In a very exciting match Australia defeated Pakistan in the
3rd ODI, by just 1 run. Batting first, Australia did have a great
start and the opening batsman delivered much needed start. David Warner and
Smith scored 56 and 77 runs respectively. But rest of the player could not
manage to score big. Sohail Tanvir from Pakistan side, did fantastic piece of
bowling as he took 3 wickets in 10 overs. In the end Australia posted a total
score of 231 runs in 50 overs with loss of 9 wickets.
Now it was turn of Pakistan to score this much total and as
far as score goes, it was not much to be score. For Pakistan opening pair Ahmed
Shehzad and Sarfaz Ahmed, provided the needed start as duo scored 26 and 32
runs repectively. Then came the half century from the bat of Shafiq. He was lbw
by the Faulker. But then next wicket of Shafiq at 0 runs put Pakistan on the
back foot and now they really needed someone to hit. Maqsood who came in did provide
some resistance and score 34 runs in 46 balls. Richardson took his wicket. But
then rest of the players who came down the line were not able to score big run.
But overall the match was exciting till the end.
