Umar Akmal added 43 and Umar Gul scored 32 runs from just 17 balls for which Gul was declared Man of the Match.

In the 3rd match of T20 World Cup 2007 against Scotland, Pakistan set a target of 172 runs for their opposition in which Akmal’s 16 and Arafat’s 17 runs built up an 8th wicket partnership of 13 runs for Pakistan. Scotland could not achieve the target and thus Pakistan won the match by 51 runs.

Another pair of Abdul Razzaq and Mohammad Amir stands at the number 5th position for adding the highest 8th wicket partnership of 12 runs for Pakistan in the T20 World Cup. While playing against England in Bridgetown, Pakistan set a target of 148 runs for England which was not enough to beat England and England easily got the target in 19.3 overs only and won the match by 6 wickets.
