Darren Sammy Cricket Ground

Darren Sammy Cricket Ground earlier known as Beausejour cricket Ground is located on the outskirts of Rodney Bay near the area of tourist resorts on the northeast coast of the Island. It was named after the names of the famous Beausejour hills nearby. This sports ground is one of the Caribbean's most recent major venues. It was completed in the year 2002 and hosted its first One Day International during the year followed. The first test was played here in 2003. It has a total seating capacity of 20,000. It became the initial ground of the West Indies with floodlights being installed in the year 2006. The first ODI played here in floodlights was between Zimbabwe and West Indies. The total constructed area of this stadium is 22 acres. It has eighteen hospitality suites along with a modern lavished pavilion which offers lounge, balcony, conference room and gym for every team.

As most of the stadium here in Caribbean land suffer due to rain during the match, The Beausejour is constructed in the driest part of Saint Lucia that makes it more ideal ground for hosting cricketing action. It is the home venue for ‘Mindoo Philip-Park’ in Castries and the ‘Windward Islands cricket team’. It has hosted seven matches of world cup 2007 including six leagues and a semifinal between South Africa and Australia.
City: Gros Islet (Saint Lucia)
