Pallekele International Cricket Stadium

Pallekele International Cricket Stadium is a cricket ground located in Pallekele in Kandy District of Central Province, Sri Lanka. The stadium is also referred as Muttiah Muralitharan International Cricket Stadium. The stadium was established in the year 2009 by the State Engineering Corporation of Sri Lanka. The stadium is owned by Sri Lanka Cricket and is operated by the same authority. The stadium consists of a maximum capacity of 35,000 audiences and the names of its ends are Hunnasgiriya End and Rikillagaskada End. The first international cricket match played on this ground was in the form of test match between Sri Lanka and West Indies on December 1, 2010 while first ODI played on this ground was between Pakistan and New Zealand on March 8, 2011.
