Shakib’s four over resulted into a win for the Tridents - The Barbados Tridents in the gap of a day played their second home game of the series. In the second game they acted as hosts to Antigua Hawksbills. Yet again the home team after winning the toss elected to bat first. The first wicket of the game fell in the 3rd over when Dwayne Smith yet again failed to have an impact. He scored only 8 runs before giving his wicket to Kemar Roach. Jonathan Carter and Shoaib Malik managed to stitch together a partnership and took the team pass the 50 run mark in 8 overs. Carter lost his wicket in the 9th over after scoring 31 runs. Yet again the home team’s middle order collapsed second time in a row. It was Umar Akmal and Shoaib Malik who scored some runs to take their team total to 146 runs. Malik was the top scorer as he scored 33 runs off 30 balls. Marlon Samuels was the top bowler as he took 2 wickets giving away 17 runs.

The visitors didn’t have a good start as they lost first two wickets at the score of 36 runs. It included the wicket of the Australian ace batsman Ricky Ponting. Johnson Charles was the top scorer for the team scoring 44 runs. Later the captain Samuels and Ben Rohrer tried to chase down the score but some great bowling by Shakib Al Hasan created a great amount of pressure for the batting team. In his four overs he gave away only 1 runs taking 1 wicket. The pressure created paid off as the wickets kept falling and Ashley Nurse took 3 wickets. The home side successfully defended 146 runs and managed to win the match by 12 runs. Shakib was named the player of the match for his match winning bowling performance. With this win the Tridents earned the two points.
