Dinesh Chandimal is a Sri Lankan player born in 1989. A right handed batsman also represents his team being a wicket keeper and currently is a skipper of Sri Lankan team for T20 format. Apart from playing for Sri Lanka, he also plays domestic cricket for Nondescripts Cricket Club. Dinesh got a call for his first Test match in 2011 against South Africa. He gave his crucial role in Sri Lankan’s first win in South Africa through 2 fifties. He has played just 7 Test games and has added nearly 600 runs in his score card with an average of 58. He has made 2 tons and 4 fifties. His maiden Test century came in 2013 against Bangladesh and scored 116 (not out) and set this figure as his best score but couldn’t save the game from being drawn. Behind the stumps, he has taken 10 catches and has done 4 stumpings. As far as ODI format is concerned, he made his debut in 2010 against Zimbabwe in which he scored just 10 runs (not out). He has given his contribution in 55 ODI games as yet and has scored around 1400 runs with an average of 34 including 2 tons and 9 fifties. As a wicket-keeper, he has caught the ball 22 times and has done 1 stumping behind the stumps. He scored his first ODI ton in 2010 against India and scored 111 runs and at present this figure is his top score. Chandimal has also enjoyed T20 games. He made his debut in 2010 ICC World T20 against New Zealand. He became the member of Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2012.
