In the First match of group A, Kolkata defeated Chennai super kings. The victory was easy, and this puts kolkata far more closer to the trophy in this tournament. Because a single defeat in this tournament could lead to drastic consequences in the coming time.

Batting first Chennai had a modest start. But over the period of whole game, they were not actually able to hit those big shots, that can put score to a higher level. They had wickets in their hands, and could have fired for big. But looks like no.

So they were able to put a score of 157 runs in 20 overs with loss of 4 wickets. Dhoni and Bravo did played some great shots in the end and were able to put their team to a good score. Now it was time for the Kolkata to show what they got.

But the start for the riders was very bad and at one point it was looking that they will loose the game. But then came Ryan and Andre Russel, who put their efforts to steer their team out of the troubled waters. Ryan scored 51 runs out of 41 balls and Andre scored 58 runs in 25 balls. This was enough for their team to score total of 157. They scored 159 runs in 19 overs, with loss of 7 wickets.
