Fastest ODI Debut Century

There are 16 batsmen till now who have scored a ton on debut match in ODI. Reeza Hendricks of South Africa made the fastest century on debut. He holds the record of fastest ODI century on debut. R Hendricks made 102 runs in just 89 balls against Sri Lanka on 5 August 2018 at Pellekele International Cricket Stadium and became the third South African batsman to score a century on his ODI debut. It took 88 balls for Reeza Hendricks to score his maiden century on his debut match.

MS Chapman of Hong Kong comes at 2nd place on the list of fastest ODI hundred on debut. It took 103 balls for MS Chapman to score his maiden century. Chapman had made not out 124 runs in just 116 balls on debut against UAE back in 2015.

Michael Lumb holds third place on the list. The opening batsman of the England team has also made a century on his ODI debut against West Indies back in 2014. He made 106 runs in his debut match.  It took 109 balls for Michael Lumb to get his hundred on his debut match against West Indies. Michael Lumb hits 7 fours and 2 sixes in his innings.

Temba Bavuma of South Africa is in the fourth position on the list. Temba Bavuma had opened the inning for South Africa on his ODI debut against Ireland in 2016. Temba Bavuma scored a century on debut in just 110 balls and became the second South African batsman to score a century on an ODI debut. T Bavuma made 113 runs in 123 balls and smashed 13 fours and 1 six in his inning.

Abid Ali of Pakistan comes in fifth place on the list. Abid Ali opened the inning on debut and made a brilliant century in 111 balls on his ODI debut against Australia in Dubai back in 2019. Abid Ali scored 112 runs in 119 balls in his debut match and became the third Pakistani cricketer to score a century on debut.

KL Rahul of the Indian team and R Gurbaz of the Afghanistan team hold sixth place together. They both took 115 balls to score their maiden ODI century. KL Rahul is the only Indian batsman to score a century on a debut match in ODI. He had made 100 not out on 115 balls against Zimbabwe back in 2016. R Gurbaz is also the only Afghan batsman to score an ODI century on debut. The youngster had taken 115 balls to complete his century against Ireland in January 2021.
