Kings XI Punjab with Mumbai Indians played the Indian Premier League 2008 10th T20 match on 25th April at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali, Chandigarh. Toss was won by Mumbai Indians who chose to field in first innings. Probably, the confidence of MI to chase was faltered by high economy of runs given away by MI bowlers. Shaun Pollock gave away 40 runs in 4 overs while Musavir Khote gave away 22 runs in 2 overs. The start by KXIP batsmen was slow, with Irfan Pathan getting caught out in second over itself. Kumar Sangakkara took over batting and stayed on pitch for 86 minutes in which he contributed 94 runs from 56 balls with 13 fours and 1 six at 167.85 strike rate. But apart from Sangakkara, no other batsmen really lasted for long on pitch and Sunny Sihal, Piyush Chawla and Sreesanth being dismissed for ducks. KXIP keep a target score of 183 runs for Mumbai to win.

Luke Ronchi and Sanath Jayasuriya came on pitch to deliver first shots across the boundary line. But the opening pair did not last long with Jayasuriya being caught and bowled by Brett Lee in third over and being followed by Ronchi by run out dismissal on the very next ball. MI batsmen gave poor performance as the bowlers and with fall of 9 wickets, Mumbai Indians lost after fighting for 106 minutes. The only best score was by Dwayne Bravo. He contributed 23 runs in 23 minutes after facing 21 balls with 4 fours before finally being dismissed by a bold on Piyush Chawla's ball.

KXIP team won the match with Sangakkara bagging Man of the Match award and team getting 2 points.
