St Lucia’s middle order collapse to suffer yet another defeat in the CPL - St Lucia Zouks hosted the Barbados Tridents in the tenth match of the Caribbean Premier League. this was the second time when these two teams came face to face. The previous time the Zouks lost the match to the Tridents and this could have been the day when the revenge could have been taken. The Tridents won the toss and elected to bat first. in the first innings the team went off to a flying start scoring 83 runs in 11 overs. During the process they lost 2 wickets. Dwayne Smith managed to score 48 runs in just 38 balls. Later Shoaib Malik and Kieron Pollard managed to score 31 off 27 balls and 34 off 21 balls respectively. With a great bating display the team managed to reach a score of 175 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Albie Morkel took 2 wickets giving away 26 runs for his team.

The home team while chasing a huge score of 175 didn’t have a good start. The lost quite a few early wickets. By the end of 7th over the team was struggling at 30/3 losing both the openers. Misbah-ul-Haq and Herschelle Gibbs tried to save the drowning ship but their effort went in vain. At the score of 73 the team lost the fourth wicket in the form of Gibbs. After the wicket of Gibbs it was a downward slide for the team as the whole team from 73/4 crashed to a humiliating 92 all out. The collapse of the batting order caused the home team to lose the game by 83 runs. Ashley Nurse took 3 wickets while Kieron Pollard took 2 wickets. thus for the all-round performance Pollard was awarded the man of the match award. With this win the Tridents remained unbeaten in their four matches.
