Shakib’s magnificent spell makes the day for the Tridents - The Barbados Trident played the 3rd home game in a row against the Trinidad and Tobago Red Steels. After winning the toss the visitors decided to bat first. The game came out to be one of the low scoring one. While batting first the team Red Steels lost two early wickets. The first two wickets fell at a score of 15 runs. The next two wickets fell in just 29 runs. In the first 6 overs the visitors had lost 4 wickets and it was difficult for the visitors to make a comeback in the game. After a dismal start the Red Steels tried to control the innings but soon a storm named Shakib Al Hassan struck the steels. Shakib one of the best all-rounders known in the history of cricket came in to bowl his spell of 4 overs. In this 4 overs he took 6 wickets of the visitors. He took 6 wickets giving away only 6 runs to the visitors. It was a spell which changed the game and the visitors were bowled out for just 52 runs.

The chase of 52 runs is simple and the target was achievable by any team. The home side was cruising to the total. The team started off in a flying way scoring 25 runs in just 1.2 overs. But soon the visitors struck back taking 6 quick wickets. Form 25/0 the home team came down to 39/6. Soon there seemed to be another twist in the tale of this match. But Kieron Pollard and Ashley Nurse managed to take the team through the score of 52 thus winning the 3rd match in the row. Fidel Edwards took 5 wickets for the team in the innings. Undoubtedly Shakib won the man of the match award for his outstanding spell with the bowl.
