The second ODI between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe was played at the same venue of Queen Sport club at Bulawayo on 18th October 2015. The tourists won the toss and elected to bat to post a total on the score board. MOHAMMAD SHAHZAD, the opener started in a quick fashion scoring 17 runs of 16 balls however he was dismissed at the score of 25 runs by the medium pacer MUTOMBODZI. NOOR ALI ZADRAN, the other opener was joined by MOHAMMAD NABI and they both laid a solid foundation for a high score. ZADRAN stood like a rock scoring 60 runs of 99 balls while Nabi notched the runs at a fast clip scoring a sensation century of 116 runs in only 122 balls. The inning was inundated with six sixes and three fours, a live evidence of the firepower the batsman possess.

Captain STANIKZAI also played an instrumental role by accumulating 39 runs of 36 balls as he pulverized 3 fours to take the tourist side to above par score of 271 runs in the allotted 50 over. NABI was the fulcrum responsible for holding the innings together and late flurry of shots in the final over put Afghanistan into an impregnable position. Among the Zimbabwe bowlers only T PANYANGARA and CT MUTOMBODZI were among the wicket takers albeit their economy rate of over 5 was nothing to be proud of.

The home side started the chase on a confident note but DAWLAT ZADRAN stuck early removing CHIBHABHA on a personal score of 8 runs. MUTUMBAMI and CRERVINE tried to salvage the situation throu8gh useful knocks of 35 and 43 respectively. Afghani bowlers kept a tight line and length not allowing the opposition batsmen to break free. Tight strangle hold and attempt to accelerate the innings lead to the downfall of both batsmen in 26th and 27th over. It became an uphill task and even a late flurry of fours and sixes by JONGWE could only reduce the lead. Afghanistan won a thumping victory by 58 runs and NABI was adjudged the man of the match for his rollicking century.
