Blizzard helps Hobart Hurricanes to win their 1st match in CLT20 - The 6th math of the Oppo Champions League T20 was played between team from South Africa the Cape Cobras and team from Australia the Hobart Hurricanes. This was the 1st match of the day to be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Both the teams were coming from a defeat and hence wanted to win this one. After winning the toss the Cobras decided to bat first.

Hashim Amla the classic player after hitting two boundaries was bowled out by Ben Hilfenhaus. The Cobras were finding it difficult to score some fast runs but later Omphile Ramela took on the challenge from Doug Bollinger and score 16 runs of 3 balls of his over. Later the 5th ball of the over saw the fall of Ramela after scoring 21 runs in 11 balls. This match saw the return of hard hitting Richard Levi. He made a mark on the match as he carried on from where Ramela left and scored 42 runs in 30 balls. In the first ball of the 10th over Levi lost his wicket leaving the team at a score of 87/3. The stage was set for the Cobras but the batsmen failed to use it well. The next 6 overs saw the team lose 3 wickets. At the end of 16th over the team was standing at 132/6. Robin Peterson and Vernon Philander made most of the last 4 overs as they helped the team reach a score of 184 in the end of 20 overs. Peterson scored 25 of 14 balls while Philander scored 32 off 14 balls. Ben Laughlin took 2 wickets giving away runs at an economy of 7.75.

Ben Dunk and Tim Paine opened for the Hobart Hurricanes. They together scored 51 runs in just 4.4 overs. Dunk made all the runs while Paine was the 1st one to go after scoring only 7 runs. Aiden Blizzard joined Dunk and they together provided a great stage for the rest of the match. They together took the team to a score of 91 in 10th over.  Dunk after scoring 54 runs in 35 balls lost his wicket. Later it was all about Blizzard as he scored 78 runs off 48 balls thus winning the match for the Hobart Hurricanes with 6 balls remaining. Sybrand Engelbrecht was the best bowler for the Cobras as he took 3 wickets giving away runs at an economy of 5.

Aiden Blizzard won the Oppo man of the match and won USD 2500. He also won the Suzuki Gixxer Power player award for hitting the maximum number of sixes.
