Zimbabwe lose the match due to lower order collapse while chasing 231 runs - The third match of the tri series was played between South Africa and Zimbabwe. After a great win against the Australians the South Africans were looking for yet another victory in this series. After winning the toss Zimbabwe decided to field first. The South Africans got off to another good start thanks to their openers. Hashim Amla scored 66 runs while Quniton de Kock scored 76 runs to provide their team a start of 142 runs. Amla was first to go while Kock followed him soon after 5 runs. The South Africans were stranded to 147/2 in the 27th over. The home team managed to make a comeback as they took some real quick wickets and never allowed the visitors to reach the top of the game. Imran Tahir played a vital role in the match by scoring 23 runs that helped his team to reach a score of 231 runs. Prosper Utseya managed to take 5 wickets in the match.

After a great bowling performance the home side needed to bat the match out. It was an easy target and some simple application by the batsmen would result into a simple win. The team scored 43 runs in 10th over but then lost two well settled batsmen. Sikandar Raza and Hamilton Masakadza scored 35 and 25 runs respectively. Sean Williams played a gem of an innings to guide the team. He scored 46 runs. Malcolm Waller and Elton Chigumbura scored 20 and 22 runs respectively. As Williams lost his wicket the team lost their path and the lower order collapsed. The home side managed to score only 170 runs in 19th over and lost their entire wicket thus losing the match by 61 runs. Dale Steyn and Ryan McLaren took 3 wickets each to script yet another win for the South Africans. Prosper Utseya won the man of the match award for his bowling performance in the match.
