Wayne Parnell’s all round show help his team win the match for South Africa - The 2nd One Day International match was played in the Bulawayo stadium. This was a must win match for the host nation as they were down in the 3 match series by 1-0. After winning the toss the host nation decided to field. The 1st success came for the team in the 8th over of the game. Hashim Amla lost his wicket. Soon the team got its 2nd success in the form of Quinton de Kock as he lost his wicket after scoring 38 runs. AB de Villiers lost his wicket in a run out. His wicket left the South Africans at 60/3. Jean-Paul Duminy and Faf du Plessis managed to control the flow. Duminy lost his wicket after scoring 36 runs. David Miller came into help du Plessis in regaining the position. these two batsmen were able to score only 40 runs when Faf du Plessis lost his wicket. He was able to score 55 runs and was the highest run scorer in his innings. Miller too lost his wicket in the 40th over of the game after scoring 45 runs. Wayne Parnell and Kyle Abbott scored 24 and 23 in the end to take their team to a total of 257. Sean Williams took 2 wickets giving away only 37 runs.

The Zimbabwe team gave an outstanding performance in the 1st innings with the ball and needed to perform well with the bat to win. The South African bowlers made it tough for the home team as they kept taking wickets easily and half of the team was back in the pavilion at a score of 59. Sean Williams was the only batsman who managed to score 55 runs other than him. the team lost all the wickets easily as they were bowled out at 196. The visitors won the match by 61 runs as Wayne Parnell and Ryan McLaren took 3 wickets each. Wayne Parnell was selected as the man of the match award. With this win the South Africans lead the series by 2-0.
