SUNRISERS HYDERABAD got their first win as they defeated DELHI DAREDEVILS by four runs in a high scoring match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. SRH gave a target of 185 runs against DD, but the Daredevils managed to score 180 runs in their limited 20 overs.

In the first innings both Aaron Finch and David Warner made unbeaten half centuries to put up a big total of 184 on their board as they made a stunning partnership of 128 runs for the second wicket. SRH really found their momentum in this match after a bad start in the tournament as Finch and Warner scored 88 runs of 53 balls and 58 runs of 45 balls respectively. Shikhar Dhawan (C) the skipper also gave a decent performance as he scored 33 runs of 22 balls. Among the bowlers of Delhi Daredevils only Shahbaz Nadeem showed some class as he took the only wicket of SRH with the economy rate of 6.00 in his allotted 4 overs.

In the second innings Murali Vijay (52 of 40 balls) and Quinton de Kock(48 of 30 balls) opened the innings for Daredevils and provided a steady start as they made a strong partbership of 99 runs for the first wicket, but there effort was not enough as Delhi lost the momentum of run chasing. Kevin Pietersen (C) failed to perform in his first match in the IPL 7 as he scored only 16 runs of 17 balls. Dinesh Karthik (W) (15 of 14 balls) also failed to deliver the performance of his class. At the near end of DD’s innings Manoj Tiwary (23 of 13 balls) and JP Duminy (20 of 7 balls) provided a quickfire but it was too late to win the match. As daredevils lost 4 wickets while chasing, Dale Steyn claimed 2 wickets among those. Karan Sharma and Darren Sammy shared the other two wickets equally.

That’s it; The Man of the Match award was given to Aaron Finch for his unbeaten batting display.
